Smart Energy·Manufacturing R&D Division

Energy is a source of industrial activity and an industry that has a great impact on the environment. Global warming, which has recently become a major threat to mankind, is attributable to humanity's dependence on fossil energy to expand its energy use. In order to overcome global warming, energy conversion that produces clean energy centered on new and renewable energy and that consumes energy efficiently is essential. On the other hand, the effort toward Industrial 4.0 is being realized in advanced forms of smart industrial complexes beyond smart factories. The Smart Energy∙Manufacturing R&D Division is conducting researches on ICT convergence technologies to efficiently produce and consume energy, high-efficiency devices and systems for renewable energy generation, secondary batteries for storing electric energy, and IIOT-based smart factory technologies. We will accelerate fundamental innovations in energy∙manufacturing sector which is the foundation of a civilized society.
